Rescue Rehab SA was established to support, uplift and upskill animal welfare and rescue organisations. We do this by sharing opportunities and assisting them to become sustainable, by expanding their own capacities and inspiring leadership. We work to address the need for appropriate care of neglected, abandoned and abused animals, and the ongoing financial and operational difficulties faced by animal welfare organisations.
OBJECTIVES: We aim to reduce the suffering of animals by assisting welfare and rescue organisations through:
  • Strategic programmes such as compulsory mass sterilisation and standard husbandry initiatives
  • Humane education initiatives which seek to develop respect for animals through Best Practice Solutions and Education programmes
  • Better understanding of and access to the legal system for the protection of animals
  • Providing practical operational solutions for the management of shelters and rescue organisations
  • Focus on governance and sustainable financial management – budgets, income and funding support
  • Improve volunteer effectiveness through up-skilling, placement, training and ongoing support
