Rescue Rehab SA was established to support, uplift and upskill animal welfare and rescue organisations throughout South Africa. We do this by sharing opportunities and assisting them to become sustainable, by expanding their own capacities and inspiring leadership.
We work to address the need for appropriate care of neglected, abandoned and abused animals, and the ongoing financial and operational difficulties faced by animal welfare organisations.
We focus on offering sound management, animal husbandry initiatives and best practice solutions to struggling animal charities.
We stand by and promote the internationally accepted Five Freedoms as animals are the ultimate intended beneficiaries of RRSA’s capacity building of their guardians and caregivers.
1. FREEDOM FROM HUNGER AND THIRST
2. FREEDOM FROM DISCOMFORT
3. FREEDOM FROM PAIN, INJURY OR DISEASE
4. FREEDOM TO EXPRESS NORMAL BEHAVIOUR
5. FREEDOM FROM FEAR AND DISTRESS
And what we would like to see added for all wildlife and all farm/food production animals:
6. THE FREEDOM TO BE FREE
